EAU CLAIRE GARDENS IN BLOOM

features a self-guided tour of these 9 unique south side gardens

Mikel Reise – 3638 Parkside Circle W.  and  Ellen Wynkoop – 3634 Parkside Circle W.

These two neighbors attract birds and butterflies to their city gardens with a neat and orderly design, showcasing a collection of native plants.  Seminars on the amazing life cycle of Monarch Butterflies will be presented throughout the day.

  1. Mary Ryan – 306 Corydon Road

  2. Cindy Halfen – 309 Corydon Road

  3. Donna Gilbertson – 308 Heather Road

  4. Native Prairie Garden

Nestled under the shade of tall white pines, the three Corydon Park homes sit next to trails of a restored native prairie with acidic and
sandy soil – where invasive species and hungry deer present many challenges.  You’ll see a variety of deer resistant annuals and perennials as well as a “no mow” lawn, a hardy heather garden, rock plantings and an extensive succulent bed.  An extra educational opportunity highlights the inner workings of a roof top solar system.

Nancy Spak – S10044 County Road F

Strolling down a long driveway in rural Eau Claire you’ll come upon large woodland fantasy gardens full of surprises.  Look for fairies, dragons, unicorns, butterflies, sea creatures, elves, wolves, waterfalls, mannequins, stained glass art, fountains, and flowers.  Best of all “Lunch by the Pond” will available by Bijou Bistro. Purchase hearth oven baked pizza, salad and a beverage to enjoy while sitting under the pergola by the pond.

  1. Gary & Mary Mathis – S10510 County Road W,  Eleva

Have you wondered what an old fashioned homestead might

look like?

This country setting offers a vegetable garden that fills

Gary and Mary’s cupboards for winter feasting. Learn how they do it with

their hard work to call themselves modern “wannabe homesteaders”.

Robin & Jackie Crandall – S11170 Lowes Creek Road

Imagine the country garden that has something in bloom al

all summer long. It’s for real at these professionally

landscaped  and maintained gardens with colorful flowers,

usual shrubs and interesting trees.  A major focal point is the

pond with a captivating waterfall, and fountain that flow into an

assortment of brilliantly colored koi.
